Let’ start with the biggest question: Why should we hire you for our wedding?
Why should you hire me to capture your wedding? Because I am going to treat you just like I would want to be treated - like family. I am not in this business just because I need a job. I truly love what I do and love making my clients happy. I have also been doing this long enough to know how to handle the unexpected curveball - I have seen plenty of curveballs! Hair and makeup running late, it rains or snows, gets dark early, whatever the case maybe, I have you covered and will make sure we catch beautiful images you will always cherish.
What is your pricing?
Obviously, this is something you want to know, but I don’t list my full pricing here. There are a few reasons for this. One of my biggest reasons is because choosing a photographer is not just about the quality of someone’s work, but few couples actually think about this. I have heard nightmare stories where a couple never meet their photographer before their wedding and they were stuck with a person all day on the biggest day of their lives and are being bossed around by someone who has no respect for the couple, their family members or the wedding-day timeline. Ideally, we can meet in person or through Skype so you can get to know me as a person. If meeting doesn’t work, I’ll be happy to email you pricing. The other reason I don’t post my pricing is because there are a lot of variables and I want to be sure we create the perfect package for you. You might only need 4 hours or coverage or might need 10 hours of coverage. You might want one of our stunning albums or an engagement shoot. These are just a few of the things that can affect the pricing.
Now, I can say that full-day wedding photography starts at $3,800 and wedding films start at $4,000.
There are lots of photographers cheaper than you. Why should we choose you?
Very true! I like to explain is this way: There is McDonalds’. And there is Fogo de Chao. Both will take care of your hunger, but on the most important day of your life, do you want a photographer who will simply get the job done? Or do you wanta photographer with the skill, passion, and experience to take your wedding photography to a level you won’t regret.
How do we book you for our wedding?
Step 1: Book a Consultation
We can do this in person or via Skype. The most important reason we do this is so you can get to know me and for me to get to know you. Your photographer and/or filmmakers usually spends a whole day with you - so you want to make sure we are a good fit for you and to build trust. During this time, we will also go over pricing and package options in detail, let you look at our albums, and go over all your questions.
Step 2: Choose Your Package
After meeting, we will be able to fine tune a package for you so you are excited about getting exactly what you want. We will not try to oversell you with items you don’t need or be pushy salesmen. You can book at our consultation, or you can takeas much time as you would like. Keep in mind, we don’t hold any dates without a signed contract and paid retainer.
Step 3: Book Your Date
When you are ready to book, we will present you with a detailed contract so you know exactly what to expect. Once the contract is signed, you will be able to pay your retainer which is 30% of your package price. At this point, you are officially booked, and we reserve your date.
Step 4: Capture Your Wedding Day!
The process of working with us is all-inclusive - meaning we will help you with your timeline, vendor recommendations, and give you tips and advice we have learned from years of capturing weddings. Then, when your day comes, we will have a blast and create some magic together!
Can you provide reviews of your services?
Absolutely! While I could post them here, I would of course post my best reviews. So, take a look at my reviews on Google, Facebook, TheKnot or WeddingWire. Now, I will say I do have a couple low star ratings on Facebook, but if you do your homework you will see any reviews less than 5 stars are from people who live either in the Middle East or South America who have never used my services.
Do you work with a second photographer?
If it’s a destination wedding or elopement, I may not, but most of the time I do. I approach a wedding day with a storytelling mindset and having a second perspective helps greatly with this. One example of a benefit of having a second photographer is when you are walking down the aisle. I want to be sure I am capturing the look in your eyes while my second shooter is getting the reverse shot with all of your friends and loving family. This is just impossible to do as a solo photographer.
I also do not hire photographers just looking for experience and to “build their portfolio.” All the photographers I work with are other fulltime wedding photographers with years of experience who have my same style.
Do you edit all our photographs?
Yes, we do! All deliverable images are edited to make sure the color, white balance, cropping, highlights and shadows are spot on for you. I have a highly trained editing team who has mastered my style of editing and helps ensure all clients receive consistent editing. My team also selects a handful of favorite images for special attention. We also give special attention to any images you decide to print or go in your album.
Where are you based? Do you do destination weddings?
I am based in Dallas, Texas and photograph engagements and weddings all over the world. A large amount of my clients are local to the Dallas-Ft. Worth area, but a large amount also do destination weddings or have me travel to where they are located whether it be nationally or internationally.
Do you provide wedding filmmaking/video services?
Yes, I do! I can either do photography, videography or both for your wedding. I have an incredibly talented staff and we work well together as a team. I will never understand this, but I have had many bad experiences with other photographers and videographers which is why I started offering both services. The biggest reason to hire us for both is because we know how to work together to stay out of each other’s shots which gives us more usable photos and footage for you.
Do you offer day after sessions and what is that exactly?
Yes, I do! A day after session is a photo session the day after the wedding which can be done one of two ways or combined. One option is essentially a bonus wedding-day shoot – where you can get dressed back up and get shots in different, cool locations– shots there weren’t time for on your actual wedding day. The other session is more romantic and usually involves capturing a nice first breakfast in bed as a married couple. And the third option is to combine the too. If this interests, you just let me know!
How long does it take before we receive our photographs or films?
I do my best to have your gallery ready within two weeks after your wedding and your wedding films within eight weeks after your wedding. This is my job, my passion, and I want you to get your photos and films to you as soon as possible so you can start enjoying them and reliving your wedding day.
How many photos will we receive?
There are so many variables that it’s impossible to give a definite answer. Things such as how many hours you book, the amount of details (shoes, bouquets, heirloom jewelry, etc.) you have, how many guests you have, how lively your dance floors is are just a few things that can affect the amount of photos you receive, but I really strive to provide around 60-80 images per hour I am there.
What if we want to order prints?
I hope it’s not “if,” but rather “when” you order prints. I personally don’t believe that photos are meant to live on Facebook, Instagram or a flash drive you’ll lose in your junk drawer. They should live on your walls, so you remember the love on your wedding day every day. Framed prints might also, one day, be passed down to your kids as heirloom items that they will cherish.
The prints can be ordered right from your online gallery and I can even show you exactly what photos will look like on your wall before you order them. I can do fine art prints, canvases, metal prints and albums.
How does the album design process work?
I work closely with you through this process and we start by choosing your cover design and selecting the images that will go into your album. After the images are selected, I will design your layout which you get to approve or make changes to before it is handmade.
What is the “online gallery?”
The online gallery is a private, password-protected online gallery that I use to deliver your digital files. From the gallery, you can download the photos, share them on social media and order professional quality prints.
Do you offer engagement sessions?
Yes, I do, and I love them! I think it is important to get to know one another before the wedding and this is a great way to do that. It is also a great way to get professional photos of the two of you before starting your lives together as a married couple. A lot of my couples that do engagement sessions loves to arrange these while on vacation somewhere. I’ve done shoots at the Grand Canyon, Glacier National Park, Cabo San Lucas, and Cape Town, South Africa to name a few. You want to gothere? I am in!
What is your style of photography?
While I don’t like to feel constrained to a specific style, I would say “creative”, “bold”, and “timeless” are a few words I would use to describe my work. I am not afraid to use natural or artificial lighting to create an art piece. The thought that natural light is best is only true for photographers who don’t know how to use lighting well. On a wedding day, I merge a journalistic style (which basically just means I stay out of the way and capture things as they happen) with my creativity. I do recommend that you schedule time, at least 30 minutes, in your wedding timeline for photos of just the two of you! This often gets overlooked, but it is very important for creating the art pieces I am known for and that you will want to hang on your walls.
Are there any types of weddings you don’t capture?
I haven’t found one yet! I love capturing all love and meeting people from all backgrounds! To list a few. I have shot Christian weddings, Jewish weddings, Hindu weddings, Muslim weddings, Same-Sex weddings, urban weddings, remote weddings, local weddings, international weddings and the list goes on!
Do you have insurance?
Yes! Not only do our clients like knowing we are covered, a lot of venues require it.
How long have you been in business?
I’ve been doing weddings professionally since 2010 and have shot hundreds of weddings. Each wedding is different and that is part of why I love weddings. I’ve shot weddings in churches, on mountains, on beaches, during storms, at night, in the morning, across the US and in other countries.
